Johor Bahru, 16 August 2025 – UTMspace Sports Day 2025 made history as it was held for the very first time at the Azman Hashim Stadium, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Johor Bahru. The event gathered new Foundation and Diploma students with the aim of igniting sporting spirit, strengthening ukhuwah (bonding), and symbolizing campus togetherness through a variety of sports and recreational activities.
The lively program featured competitive yet friendly matches in netball, futsal, and volleyball. Among the highlights were the volleyball and futsal matches, where students’ enthusiasm and teamwork shone brightly as cheers and applause echoed throughout the stadium.
Adding significance to the day, UTM management representatives joined the celebration, reflecting strong institutional support for student development both in academics and extracurricular activities.
“Today, we are not only competing on the field, but learning the true meaning of cooperation, teamwork, and resilience – values that will serve as lasting companions throughout the journey of knowledge at UTM,” remarked KDOJ Principal.
The success of this landmark event was also thanks to the collaboration with Kolej Dato’ Onn Jaafar (KDOJ), which served as co-host of the program. Special appreciation goes to the fellows and assistant fellows of KDOJ, whose tireless efforts in organizing, coordinating, and guiding students ensured the smooth flow of the day’s activities. Their contributions were key in transforming the sports day into a memorable and impactful experience.
UTMspace Sports Day 2025 stood as a symbol of campus unity – strengthening bonds among students, staff, and management. Beyond fostering a healthy lifestyle, it successfully highlighted values of fellowship, togetherness, and the vibrant spirit of UTM as one family.
