Ramadan Preparation Ceremony 1447H Strengthens Spiritual Readiness and Brotherhood at KDOJ

Johor, February 12, 2026 – Kolej Dato’ Onn Jaafar (KDOJ) successfully organized the Ramadan Preparation Ceremony 1447H on February 12, 2026, at the XC1 Activity Room, KDOJ. The program attracted 53 registered participants, including students and assistant fellows. Among those present were Dr. Mohd Amri bin Md Yunus, Principal of KDOJ, several college fellows, and invited speaker Dr. Abd Rahman Hamzah.

The program was organized by the KDOJ Student Committee under the leadership of Md Masud Karim. Its objective was to provide exposure to the significance of Ramadan, the rulings related to fasting, and practical tips for facing the challenges of fasting while maintaining academic commitments. The ceremony began with the recitation of the Qur’an and an opening prayer, followed by welcoming remarks from the Principal of KDOJ. The main lecture, titled “Ramadan: A Month of Mercy and Forgiveness,” covered topics such as the importance of Ramadan as the holiest month in Islam, the pillars of fasting (intention and abstention), matters that invalidate the fast, key practices such as Suhoor, Iftar, and Tarawih prayers, as well as the virtues of Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Decree).

The participants then performed the Maghrib prayer in congregation before the event concluded with a thanksgiving prayer. All participants and fellows received a Ramadan Guidebook to assist them in planning their acts of worship systematically. Dinner was also provided to strengthen the spirit of Islamic brotherhood. Overall, the program successfully enhanced awareness and understanding of Ramadan among KDOJ students while fostering closer bonds among the college community in welcoming this blessed month.
