Skudai, 9 November 2025 – The annual UTM Games 2025, held from 1–9 November 2025, concluded with a resounding triumph for the Kolej Dato’ Onn Jaafar (KDOJ) contingent, who delivered an impressive showcase of athletic excellence, leadership and teamwork throughout the nine-day event. Organised by the UTM Sports Excellence Centre in collaboration with the KDOJ Student Committee (JKP KDOJ), this year’s championship brought together a vibrant assembly of student-athletes, united by a shared spirit of sportsmanship and healthy competition.
KDOJ fielded a strong force of 237 athletes supported by 27 dedicated team managers across multiple events including badminton, basketball, woodball, football and petanque. Their efforts culminated in a collection of gold, silver and bronze medals earned through discipline, skill, and remarkable perseverance. Beyond competitive events, KDOJ also made history at the grand level when the contingent secured its first-ever victory in the UTM Games Marching Parade, a momentous achievement that not only elevated the college’s standing but also symbolised unity and pride among its members. The win marks a new milestone for KDOJ, adding ceremonial excellence to its already outstanding athletic achievements.
Throughout the tournament, KDOJ athletes demonstrated exceptional commitment, bringing home gold medals in the Badminton Women’s Singles, Basketball Women’s Team, and Petanque Men’s Triple. Their performance was further strengthened with a silver medal in Petanque Men’s Single and bronze medals in Woodball Men’s Double and Petanque Women’s Double. These victories reflect the contingent’s deep pool of talent, strong preparation, and unwavering resilience in delivering their best performance for the college and the university.
The college extends its highest appreciation to the leadership team and organising committee who played a significant role in ensuring the contingent’s success. Special acknowledgement is given to the outstanding efforts of Idris Hakimi bin Muhamad Yassir as Program Director, Khancanaa A/P Murali as Secretary, and Ashvin A/L Karti Kasan as Treasurer, along with the entire JKP KDOJ committee, team managers, Fellows and the UTM Sports Excellence Centre. Their dedication to logistics, athlete welfare, communication and event management ensured a smooth, organised and impactful participation for KDOJ throughout the championship.
The involvement of KDOJ athletes in UTM Games 2025 also strongly supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly by promoting student well-being and active participation, nurturing athletic professionalism, strengthening social cohesion, and enhancing leadership skills among the university community.
