UTM Campus Sustainability Activities & Initiatives : Automatic irrigation system for flower beds

Community

Keeping with routine activity like flowering the plants requires high discipline and dedications. Due to the busy schedule of our staff, we make sure the plants and flower adequately watered at all time but in the same time minimize the water wastage. Therefore, we began installing automatic irrigation system for all the flower beds at block XC3. XC3 block has three floors and two flower beds at each floor. Therefore, two automatic irrigation systems were installed and operated to distribute water to all the flower beds. The plants/flowers were watered three times a day at for 3 minutes for each interval. The same effort will be introduced to other blocks.
